Ingredients

  • 2 cup frozen watermelon chunks
  • 1 ripe, frozen banana, peeled and quartered (about 115 g.)
  • 3/4 cup plain, unsweetened almond milk (or non-dairy milk of choice)
  • 2 tbsp. protein powder (optional; I used pea protein powder)

Instructions

  1. Add your frozen fruit, non-dairy milk, and protein powder (if using) to a blender and cover. Start your blender off on low speed and gradually increase the speed until you have a smooth and creamy smoothie! (You can also just use smoothie mode on your blender, if it has it.)

  2. Pour your smoothie into a large glass, and enjoy!

Notes & Hints

To freeze fruit, I like to cut fresh fruit into pieces and place it in a single layer in a freezer bag, then freeze it for a few hours or overnight.

I used unflavored pea protein powder; if you're using flavored protein powder you may want to increase the amount to 3-4 tablespoons.

This is a very thick smoothie, so if you don't have a high-powered blender, you might need to add additional milk to get it to blend.

Nutrition facts include optional pea protein powder.
